Guidelines for Redemption of the $100 Cotton Notes after December 31, 2019

By way of Legal Notice No. 357 of 2019, the Trinidad and Tobago $100 notes bearing any series date prior to 2019 ($100 cotton notes) will cease to be legal tender (demonetized) from January 1, 2020. Act No. 22 of 2019 Miscellaneous Provisions (Proceeds of Crime and Central Bank) Act sets out the broad parameters of the demonetization.

Updated December 23, 2019 - Adjustment to Central Bank's Working Hours to Facilitate the Exchange of $100 Paper Notes to $100 Polymer Notes

In addition to the already established working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays until December 31, 2019 (except on public holidays, i.e. Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26, 2019), the Central Bank will be open to the public again this weekend from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
