The Caribbean Group of Banking Supervisors (CGBS) was established in 1983 with the mandate to enhance and coordinate the harmonization of the bank supervisory practices in the English speaking Caribbean, with a view to bringing them in line with internationally accepted practices.
The Caribbean Association of Insurance Regulators (CAIR) advocates, encourages and supports the development and enforcement of insurance regulation in the Caribbean according to worldwide standards.
The Commission has three primary functions: registration of all market participants and the securities that they offer; surveillance of the market; and enforcement of the legislation which governs the functioning of the securities market.
