Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Announcements
The Bank’s monetary policy decisions, Repo rate decisions, are communicated to the public in the form of a ‘Monetary Policy Announcement’.
The Monetary Policy Announcements are scheduled for the last Friday of the respective month, every two (2) months, with the exception of a public holiday, when the announcement occurs on the last Thursday of the respective month. The Advance release calendar provides the bi-monthly schedule for these announcements. The release of the Monetary Policy Announcement is supplemented with the release of the biannual Monetary Policy Report and Economic Bulletin. This ensures that the Central Bank maintains a consistent flow of economic data to the general public and financial markets.
Previously, the Central Bank announced its key policy interest rate – the Repo rate, on a monthly basis. The Repo rate announcement was replaced by the bi-monthly 'Monetary Policy Announcement'. The last Repo rate announcement was in July 2013.
